Reflections of The Lord Mayor is an annual event that gives us an opportunity to celebrate the vital role of the Lord Mayor of London. One of the oldest continuously elected civic offices in the world, the Lord Mayor plays a vital part in the life of the City and in supporting UK plc. Each Lord Mayor also supports the communities of our great capital. This non-profit event supports the charities nominated by each Lord Mayor during their time in office, with funds from the evening going to the Lord Mayor's Appeal Charity.
So why did I choose to devise and organise this event? As a Malaysian-born UK resident who has put down roots – living, working and raising two children in London – I have the greatest respect for this great City institution. As a business management academic, I have had the opportunity to see first-hand the long-term value of 'meetings of minds', and that is what the office of Lord Mayor facilitates. This is our chance to say thank you to the men and women who have held office so diligently. It is also one of those rare occasions when people can come together to celebrate the value of civic life. I hope you will join us at the next event. And if you need any information about attending as a guest or supporting us as a partner, do please get in touch with me.
